Family Hui Nursery School
Family Hui Nursery School strategies aim to build collaborative and interactive parenting for the children and parents while committed to offer community an interactive opportunity to learn more about Collaborative parenting, bring it into homes in a practical fashion, and successfully apply the Collaborative problem Solving skills for the marginalized slams area of Dar es Salaam. In most of the slams areas of Dar es Salaam, there are a huge number of citizens concentrated in small dense population with very poor social services, low income, early marriage, single parents, high number of crime, poor education system, poor sewage and living condition.

Philosophy
We, Lead for Tomorrow Tanzania L4TT believes that parents are the most important influence on a child’s growth and development. “FAMILY HUI NURSERY SCHOOL” provides a place where both parents and children can develop together. Under the guidance of qualified and experienced staff, parents participate in every aspect of the program. Parents’ contribution of time and energy are key to creating the best possible early childhood experience for their children in the community.
What is the Parent Participation Role?
- Commit to join Family Hui peer-led parenting support groups discuss positive parenting principles that empower parents and caregivers while promoting healthy child development.
- Weekend work day – Saturday/Sunday parents meet during the weekend.
- Parent participating in the Hui training education meetings.
- Monthly class meetings during your child’s regular class day led by the teacher.
- Each family serves on a committee or takes a leadership role through our “FAMILY HUI NURSERY SCHOOL” Board of Directors. Some examples of committees are community outreach, silent auction, beautification, curriculum support, and finance.
- In order to keep the equipment and facility safe and attractive, each family contributes six hours of maintenance/beautification work per year. Note that “FAMILY HUI NURSERY SCHOOL” board members are exempt from the beautification requirement, so please consider taking on a board level job.
- Families participate in the major fundraising events
- Participation in different organized program.
- Special Meetings include welcome coffee in June, orientation meeting in September.
How do the Children Learn Through Play?
We will emphasize play and exploration as the primary methods of learning and development. The children are empowered through authentic, collaborative classroom practices. Mathematics and language activities are woven into the various learning areas so that children have the opportunity to explore and develop skills in natural ways.
